EAT: LULU'S SHUTTERS ON MANHATTAN AVE
Various reports have come in that Lulu's Taqueria on Manhattan Avenue by 123rd Street has closed in the past week. A link to the official Instagram account reveals that this is pretty much the case and the Mexican eatery that was less than 2 years in business has officially shuttered. We like this picturesque corner brownstone space in South Harlem and more authentic cuisine would probably really do well here but keeping any business going is a tall order in the big city. More on Lulu's can be found in our previous post: LINK

I went there once. It wasn't very good.
ReplyDeleteAgree. The food was mediocre but expensive and the music was so loud that everyone was shouting at each other. Our waiter could barely hear us. The meal was not enjoyable.
DeleteThe food wasn't all that great, and was *definitely* overpriced.
ReplyDeleteThey should open up a diner here. A good diner would be great in this neighborhood. I'd love to wake up on a Saturday morning and either order some breakfast or walk to a diner.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great addition to the neighborhood.
DeleteMet the incoming eatery owners tonight. Cuisine will be farm to table American fare. Name will be Clay. Soft opening scheduled around mid January. Fingers crossed for them!
