EAT: A BETTER BURGER AT RDV

We finally made it over for brunch at RDV on FDB by 112th Street with the goal of trying out the weekend burger special.  The French eatery that was our choice for best new restaurant for 2016 has an amazing selection for dinner but how will the American classic turn out at the now notable Gallic establishment?

Presentation is key and the first impression with the dish that comes with a cone of pomme frites is pretty extraordinary.  Perfect shoestring fries with a dusting of paprika already makes the order worthwhile but the burger itself is also and thing of beauty.  A toasted brioche bun that soaks up all of the savory juices and still retains the requisite texture, house ground beef with short rib, cherrywood smoke bacon, gruyere cheese, onion jam and an elegant skirt of lettuce makes this one of the most handsome sandwiches we have seen in some time.  RDV also has a rare Blanc de Noirs which is a sparkling champagne made out of pinot noir grapes but looks more like a pale rose and pairs well with this stellar burger.    Make sure to drop by on Saturdays and Sundays to check out the special daytime menu.  More on RDV can be found in our past post: LINK
