On this note, maybe the idea of Harlem would float but not even a mention can be found in the article. Harlem was like Brooklyn in 2000, a land about which many did not know much and had many negative preconceptions. Now, with a rapid influx of new artists and young people, the face of the neighborhood is diversifying. Only time will tell, but maybe the next "Brooklyn" to be creative, musically attractive, culturally diversified and affordable could be found in Manhattan. Link: NY Times.

☞ READ: The New Brooklyn?
This weekend, the Times had an interesting article on what the next "Brooklyn" will be. As Seattle was in the 1990's, Brooklyn seems to have captured the imagination of the nation as a creative capital. Still, it remains diverse and affordable unlike the overly developed art neighborhood of Soho, the West Village or the East Village. Other cities discussed are Philadelphia, Nashville, Buffalo and even Qatar. What the article also points out is that some parts of Brooklyn have arrived in such a way that many have considered the cost and would prefer to move back to Manhattan.
