☞ EAT: Ottomanelli Bros. New York Grill
The Ottomanelli Brothers' East Harlem burger joint captures the best qualities of this 109 year-old name and helps revive a lackluster part of the neighborhood. Originally in the family business as a local butcher with shops operating all over the city, this is the place for steaks and burgers at an incredible price. The awnings and French doors supply a bit of old New York charm, but the actual building that houses the restaurant blends in with the uninspiring housing projects and towers that start up in this corner of East Harlem. A plus is that the space is only one block away from Central Park. 1325 Fifth Avenue at East 111th Street. Tel.(212) 828-8900. Take the 2,3 or 6 train to 110th Street. Ottomanelli website: LINK
