☞ SEE: The Mount Morris Park House Tour
The clear weather and crowds came out for 20th Annual Mount Morris Park Historic House Tour this past weekend. Highlights among the ten homes shown included the abode of Harlem's documentary filmmaker, Albert Maysles (which included a tiled indoor pool), a shell row house that was converted into multiple apartment dwellings and a modern green townhouse that ran on solar power. Mr.Maysles' significant other, Gillian Walker, gave a personal tour of the gardens in the center photo and was a wealth of information on historic interior decorating. There were also a couple of houses up for sale and one bed and breakfast which took advantage of the large draw this annual tour brings about. Being accommodating neighbors, several of the homes even had baked goods and refreshments for the intrepid visitors basking in the sights at one of Harlem's most historic neighborhoods.
