☞ EAT: Make My Cake
As one of the first new bakeries to set up in Harlem, Make My Cake has been the king of cupcakes for the past couple of years. Loyal patrons rave about the butter-cream frosting and the overall moistness of the cakes and cupcakes. The one variety that is the hands-down favorite is the red velvet cupcake, so make sure that this one is on your list. Located at 121 St. Nicholas Avenue at 116th Street in a triangular corner store front. Tel. (212) 932-0833. The nearest subway station is the 2, 3 at 116th. There is also a central Harlem location at 2380 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd/7th Avenue at 139th Street. Tel. (212) 234-2344. Closest subway 2,3 or B,C at 135th Street.
