☞ SEE: The Harlem River High Bridge circa 1902

We have written about the carriage speedway under the High Bridge over the Harlem River in the past and most recently found this Thomas Edison film showing a procession of horses and carriages in 1902. Nobody is really racing in the clip but an interesting point of reference is how the bridge up top is busy with pedestrian traffic. The High Bridge has been closed for almost four decades and the city is trying to restore it currently for a 2010 opening so that the public may be able to walk across it once more.
