☞ INTRODUCING: The Wafels and Dinges Truck
Morningsiders, look out for the Wafels and Dinge truck! It's retro-looking, bright yellow, and sells Belgium waffle with dinges (which is apparently the Belgium slang for toppings). This downtown favorite has invaded the blocks above 110th Street and parks every Monday, from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, at Broadway and 115th Street (the location may vary by a block or two). Three types of waffles are offered and there's a free choice of toppings which might include a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries, Nutella or many others. For $2 extra, you get an unlimited choice! The menu has nothing savory on it so bring your sweet tooth and a friend or two to help out with the extra calories. Nearest subway is the 1 train at the 110th or 116th Street stop. Just look out for the bright yellow truck on the west side of Broadway. Photo by Ulysses. www.wafflesanddinges.com

While I know they are catering to the Columbia crowd just glad to have them closer. I love waffles. -DB
ReplyDeleteYup, especially at $5.00 per waffle, it's a good chunk of change. There's also the mini-waffle option for $3.00 which actually might be better since you would be controlling the calories a little better.
ReplyDeleteIt sure retro! must have one of those, but first - make me a super waffle..i'm so hungry for this street appetizer!
