☞ INTRODUCING: The Mount Morris Gallery
Another development in the Mount Morris Park Historic District is that galleries are emerging slowly. First there was Casa Frela, located in a landmark brownstone on 119th Street. As we walked by the address of 229 Lenox Avenue (the red building with the plywood out front), a house that we secretly wish we could have purchased ourselves, we notice that the building permit states that the lower floor will be converted into a gallery space. The owner will be converting the top floors into residential space so the entire building will have a dramatic restoration. To see what 229 Lenox Avenue used to look like, go to the previous post: LINK. For more on Casa Frela: LINK. Nearest subway is the 2,3 express at 125th Street or 116th. Photo by Ulysses
