☞ DWELL: Signs of Life at PS90

Walking by Central Harlem's ambitious adaptive reuse project PS90 this weekend, we noticed that progress has been made since we last ventured by last October. The monumental building at 220 West 148th Street, between Lenox and ACP/7th Avenue was designed by famed school architect C.B.J. Snyder a century ago and looks as new as the day it was finished. Windows that had been missing on the top half of the building are now all in, and the exterior looks near complete. The interior is another story and will probably not be done until summer finishes up. Since September, eight units have been sold and two more contracts have just been signed in January. If any new condo conversion has the charm to make it through a tough market, this is the one. The closest trains are the 2,3 on 148th Street or the A,B,C,D at 145th.
