☞ EAT: The Hotel Theresa White Castle

The sidewalk shed is finally down at the Hotel Theresa and we noted that the White Castle storefront blended in seamlessly with the newly polished white facade of the iconic building. The fast food joint most people associate with the suburbs does not really have many outposts in the city so it's quite a distinct combination to see the restaurant and the building as a whole. Probably just a coincidence but the overall affect is the ultimate White Castle that beats out the little mini-castles that one finds in the burbs. The closest train is the A,B,C,D or the 2,3 on 125th Street. Photos by Uysses

  1. funny Hotel Theresa used to be the only place where Black folks could stay when passing through NY.

Today it is not a functioning Hotel anymore. Sadly, there has been a White Castle fast food where there was once an Afro-book store.

Gentrification displaces community and removes culture.
