Now I understand from completely unsubstantiated information overheard on the number 7 bus that Sylvia’s is now owned by a consortium of Lebanese business men and that the quality of the food has plummeted; a group of Sylvia's staffers opened a place on the west side of Lennox between 127th and 128th the name of which escapes me that is The Real Deal.
ReplyDeleteAnd a partner of the new venture on Lenox Ave. is from Settepani, the same Lenox Ave. bakery, the plot thickens. In Sylvia’s defense, I have never been disappointed and it has always been a success when dining with visitors from downtown at Sylvia’s.
