☞ WALK: 622 West 114th Street

There are a few buildings uptown that have the tell-tale red circles indicating the famous former inhabitants. Walking past 622 West 114th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive, we noticed that famed Hollywood silent film director Cecil B. DeMille had lived in the building from 1906-1913. What is not indicated on the facade is that fame struck twice and another noted resident was rumored to have spent his college years in 1983 bunking up in the same building: Barack Obama. The closest train to this stop is the 1 train at 116th Street for those who want check it out. Photos by Ulysses
