☞ PROTECT: Politicians Rally for P.S. 186

Saturday, March 20th, 10:00 AM at Hamilton Grange Public Library Basement. The Hamilton Heights Homeowners association will gather tomorrow to discuss the preservation of P.S. 186 with the help of some local politicians. Scheduled appearances include:

Councilman Robert Jackson 10 AM-10:45 AM
Assemblyman Herman D. Farrell, Jr. 10:45 AM-11:30 AM

Come support the community effort to save the historic school building from the wrecking ball. For those who can not make the meeting, sign the online petition which has over 280 signature: LINK. The Hamilton Grange Library is at 503 West 145th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam. The closest trains are the 1 or the A,B,C,D at 145th Street. Photo by Ulysses

  1. I'm all for saving a historic building, but there has to be a long-term plan or it will remain an eye sore.

  2. There have been five plans but the owners now want to have it demolished. The school was bought from the government with the promise that it would be restored. That was over two decades ago and the community groups are trying to find options on saving it. The developers are there but the owners want to make more money on a new rental building.
