☞ PROTECT: Public Hearing for Burial Grounds
Friday March 19th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Elmendorf Reformed Church. New York senators Bill Perkins and Jose M. Serrano will be part of a public hearing on the colonial African burial grounds this Friday at the Elmendorf Reformed Church on 171 East 121st Street between Lexington and Third. Those interested in speaking on the behalf of the burial grounds and making it a historic landmark should contact burialgroundhearing2010@gmail.com and include your name, address and phone number. Interested parties can also call either Senator Perkins’ office at 212-222-7315, or Senator Serano’s office at 212-828-5829 by 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2010. The closest subway to the church is the 4,5,6 train at 125th Street.
