☞ READ: State to Limit Riverbank Park Hours
As part of a the planned New York budget cuts, many of the state parks will be closed or limited within their operations. One of two state parks in NYC, the Riverbank State Park (which sits on top of the formerly controversial sewage treatment plant) will be affected by limited hours and closed outdoor pools during the summer. With billions of dollars in the state deficit, some 55 parks or historic sites were not so lucky and have been planned to close indefinitely in 2010. Read more about it in the NY Times articles: LINK. The Riverbank State Park is located at 145th Street and Riverside drive with the 1 train at 145th Street as the closest subway stop.
