☞ REVIVE: 77 West 126th Street Restored?
One of our readers who lives on West 126th Street just mentioned that the construction by Sylvia's Restaurant, at the northeast corner of Lenox, seems to be starting up again. There was a stop work order on the entire row of brownstones last year and some of the demolition looks to have gone too far based on public records. The top photo shows what appears to be a new condo building on the wide lot of 77 West 126th Street where there used to stand a couple of brownstones (far left of lower photo). The DOB permits look as if job was originally made out to gut renovate the interiors and combine the two buildings but somewhere along the way it would seem that the brownstones were completely demolished. Does anyone know what's going on here? Current photo by Ulysses
