Surrounded by colorful spring flowers, 2,400 worshipping families and children celebrate Easter Sunday at two services in the soaring Gothic Halls of Riverside Church. Magnificently colorful stained glass windows and the flower-decorated Nave of The Riverside Church provide the perfect backdrop for congregants from all walks of life celebrating Easter during services at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 4, in The Riverside Church Nave, 490 Riverside Drive (between 120th & 122nd Street), Morningside Heights.
Both services—which are two of the Church’s largest—will be led by The Rev. Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr., Senior Minister Emeritus of The Riverside Church and President of the Healing of the Nations Foundation. Each service will include music sung by the Riverside Choir and Brass Ensemble, and feature works by Larry King, Maurice Duruflé, Johannes Brahms and Charles-Marie Widor. The closest subway to this location is the 1 train at 116th or 125th Street. Photo by Ulysess
