☞ DRINK: Inside the Paris Blues
The Paris Blues bar at the corner of ACP/7th Avenue and 121st Street is truly old school since it has been around for 41 years. The New York Times had a look inside the bar this past weekend and caught up with its owner. There's a great slide show included and the bar seems like one of those aging places with loads of character to it. Harlem establishments like Lenox Lounge have reinvented themselves in recent years by investing in major renovations and attracting not only the older customers but fresh new faces to keep business going. How great would it be if one of the new television makeover shows actually worked with an establishment that's been around for decades? There's really not much happening on this part of lower ACP so it would great to turn this corner shop into a thriving business. The closest trains to Paris Blues are the 2,3 or A,B,C,D at 125th Street. See the slideshow in the NY Times: LINK. Photo by Ulysses
