☞ REVIVE: East Harlem Colon Plaza Set to Lease

The new six-story building at 55 East 115th Street (between Park and Madison) is just about ready to lease out as another affordable housing option for Harlem. The Real Deal reports that Colon Plaza will soon have 55 apartments available for low-income families and a portion set aside for the formerly homeless. The $18 million project was conceived back in 2006 and will also have 1,350 square foot of retail space on the ground floor. Residential applicants will be selected through a lottery system later on in July. On a side note, we think the affordable housing architects are doing some pretty decent work lately. Agreed Ulysses. This building has more character than you would typically expect from an affordable housing development. Good to see continued progress in East Harlem.

  2. I hope there is a social service and support component to this project that focuses on the formerly homeless.
