☞ SEE: Bikers for Diapers on West 122nd Street
There was a whole lot of bike gang activity this past weekend on West 122nd Street, but it's not what you think! Photographer/journalist Paula Froke (www.focusandrefocus.com) sent us over these great images of a motorcycle club's annual diaper delivery to the Hale House, which is in the middle of the block. The crew arrived with a truck full of diapers and everyone helped unload the goods to the local nonprofit organization. Well done guys! Check out more photos on Ms. Froke's Flickr site: LINK

Hale house is still around? I thought they got the knock out punch, and rightly so when the daugther (after the founder Clara died), Dr. Lorraine Hale was caught stealing nearly all the money. Hale house since Clara died has been nothing but a fraud. The place was rotten from the inside out. If you're new to Harlem, you can get the drift of the fraud this place is here. How corrupt is this place? Al Sharpton rallied to their defense, at first. Then when the extend of the greed and corruption was documented, even Al Sharpton had to back away from Hale, total fraud, crooks, and a scam. Do I think a leopard can change it's spots? No.

Anon, that article is over eight years old now. I do wonder though what the situation is now with Hale House.
ReplyDeleteAwesome event though and great photos!
What a cool event. Great pictures, too! We toted our tot over to see all the bikers and most of the guys were big softies, cooing over him. I really hope the donation of diapers makes it to those babies in need.
ReplyDeleteThis is just plain beautiful. Warms my heart indeed.
ReplyDeleteAnother great event that took place in Harlem this weekend was Harlem's First Gay Pride Festival. See article in NY Mag http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/06/harlem_celebrates_its_first_lg.html#comment_list_bottom.
ReplyDeleteIt was an important opportunity for us (straight allies and members of the LGBT community) to celebrate the diversity of our community and our youth!
