FREE screening, Thursday, May 3rd, 6:30 PM-8:30 PM at the Apollo Theater. The 2010 Tribeca Film Festival screening of The Lottery was sold out but those who missed it can see the film for free at the Apollo tonight. This is a must see for all parents since it takes an inside look at the charter school debate and talks about what are the educational options in Harlem. The Apollo is at 253 West 125th Street, between FDB/8th Avenue and ACP/7th Avenue. The closest trains are the 2,3 and the A,B,C,D at 125th. Interested parties can also RSVP on Facebook: LINK. The Lottery will be shown (not for free) in theaters nationally for only 1 day on June 8th: LINK
Can you provide anymore information on where it might be shown on June 8th?
ReplyDeleteAdded a link to the post which has the theaters that The Lottery will be playing at on June 8th. Surprisingly, none of them are in Harlem.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I've heard good things about the movie. It's a shame that none of the theaters in Harlem are playing it (other than the Apollo).
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting about this. I was able to see the film and the panel discussion afterward. I would encourage everyone to see it.
ReplyDeleteditto. great evening and enlightening. see the film, spread the word.
ReplyDeleteagreed...great film, great discussion..thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteThe charter school issue is probably one of the most important issues facing the Harlem community. I am a charter school supporter and I believe there is not a single issue as important as improving education here in Harlem. In the long run it is far more important than real estate development in revitalizing the community.
