Saturday, June 12th, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Morningside Park (rain or shine). We can not emphasize enough how important it is to nurture the organic and local grown food movement in Harlem so everyone should come out and check the locally grown and seasonal goods at Harlem's own farmer's market. Located at the southeast corner of West 110th Street and Manhattan Avenue, anyone in Harlem can get to this Morningside Park location within 15 minutes by using public transportation.
The market just opened three weeks ago and is evidently the largest we have seen it in some time. The new addition of Joseph Fisheries showcases seafood caught off of Long Island and Migliorelli farms has fresh produce delivered from upstate New York (the top photo is one of their stores in the town of Hudson). We noticed some free-range pork being sold last week and that vendor had samples roasted up for folks to taste. Come to think of it, the cheese vendor was also giving out samples. So come enjoy the park, taste the organic, local offerings and help the farmer's market movement grow in Harlem.
