☞ DRINK: Bier International Not Open Yet
The New York Times dining blog reported that the Harlem beer garden called Bier International (at 113th and FDB/8th Avenue) will open on the Independence Day weekend and that is now not case. As of last night, the interior was currently in its white-wall state with some evidence of taupe paint on one of the back walls. Interior fixtures and furnishings are still absent from the site and the latest update from a reader is that the owner is now aiming for the last game of the World Cup on July 11th to open up. Time Out also had a blurb about the opening of Bier International but obviously a week or two too early. It seems there is enormous anticipation for this place to open. Let's hope they make the new opening date - even if the paint is still drying.
ReplyDeleteBring on the bier! (Tee hee)
ReplyDeleteWhen many businesses like this open in Harlem, they actually charge higher prices than what their similar or equivalent charges in trendy areas like Tribeca, etc. 5 & Diamond being one example. I hope they don't fall into this category.
ReplyDeleteThat NY Times article also says Ryan Skeen is no longer at 5 and Diamond.
ReplyDeleteDNAinfo just came up with a story on Bier International and its delayed opening:

If they hook up a tap, I'll help them finish the construction myself...
ReplyDeleteStill looking forward to this place opening, although I consider it a massive fail that they missed the world cup.
