Back in the Days had us thinking about all the recent articles on how a local politician is trying to stop the baggy pant trend:

Adolescents have always tried to be rebellious in their way of dress but as fashion styles get older, they disappear for one very obvious reason: teens do not want to dress like their parents. The 80's are back in a big way for kids of all backgrounds (shorter hair, skinny jeans, shorts, brights, hats, and stripes) and styles in Mr. Shabazz's book almost look like a cross section of what's happening on the streets with today's younger, trendier set.

I wonder if these kids would continue to wear their pants on the ground if they actually knew that its origin is linked back to solicit gay sex in prisons. When the whole badass rough muthaf*%(# factor is compromised and your form of dress reveals you as being no more threatening than a hardcore Glee fanatic, you'll see the trend stop immediately.
ReplyDeleteThese "kids" know or at least, have heard about the origns of this style. Most of them don't care because it's a staple nowadays and they know the look posses people off.
