☞ EAT: Five Guys Burgers Arriving in Morningside

The old bodega and the Japanese specialty grocer just north of 110th Street at 2847 Broadway have been closed for over a year now and a new store will be arriving soon. Five Guys Burgers and Fries have been opening up branches in the city and now it looks like Morningside Heights is the next neighborhood that they plan to invade based on a poster up on the plywood this weekend.  The wildly popular better burger chain had us researching images of the offerings and one can see that they serve up some major beef.  It's basically a fast food chain with white-cloth restaurant quality food. Mel's Burgers just literally opened across the street this summer so there's going to be a showdown.  FYI Mel's is wildly popular and serves LaFrieda beef burgers so price and convenience will probably be the main factor between the two.  Check out our past post on Mel's: LINK
