☞ REVIVE: The Piano Bar at West 140th Street
In a town full of musicians, a piano bar is oddly enough a rare sight these days but one apparently had been set up around the City College area in Hamilton Heights. Based on DOB reports, it looks like the piano bar establishment at the corner of 140th and Amsterdam was in business over a decade ago but sometimes in 2005 changes were about to happen. Permits show that there plans had been filed to gut renovate the entire building at 1624 Amsterdam and add 3 stories on top. From the current state of the building and final permits, it looks as if 2006 was the last time any work was done at the border of the former Vinegar Hill neighborhood of West Harlem. Anyone know anything else about this building?

My partners and I are about to close on a deal that might bring it back. Maybe a new name, but I will definitely bring in a piano and Jazz musicians. It will also be a sports bar with home cooking.
