☞ MEET: St. Nikolaus at Bier International

St. Nikolaus (the German & Dutch version of Santa Clause) is coming to Bier International on Sunday, December 5th, from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM. Kids should bring a stocking to get chocolate and Gummibärchen from St. Nikolaus. There will be Glühwein drinking (hot red wine with spices) for adults, book reading for kids, and live Christmas guitar music and Spekulatius (ginger bread cookies). Harlem's new beer garden is popular with the stroller set so this should be a fun holiday event for all the families out there.  We have to give these guys some props for recognizing that young families also need a place to hang and relax during the day (they even recently introduced a children's menu).

Bier International is located at 2099 FDB/8th Avenue and West 113th Street. The closest subways are the B,C at 110th or 116th Street. www.BierInternational.com

  2. Do you know that in the Dutch tale of St. Nicholas,he has a helper named Peter who is a Moor, and his role is to give Coal to the naughty children.

Years ago on the Hallmark TV show they did the story of Santa and Petes' arrival in America. Pete remained a character in the story until, Clements tale of St.Nick.
