☞ MEET: Lauren Flanigan at Mt. Morris Talks!
Thursday, January, 13th, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Harlem Branch Library, Community Room, 3rd floor, 9 West 124th Street. One of today's most renowned opera singers will be speaking this Thursday at the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association's series of gatherings featuring local residents. Lauren Flanigan has been compared to opera icon Maria Callas in modern times and has had quite a run with lead roles at the City Opera in the past decade (image from the title role of Vanessa) but also uses her experience to help mentor talent in her brownstone at West 121st Street. Check out the MMPCIA site for more on this event and the interesting details of the one true diva of Harlem: LINK

Are you sure it's 121st St? When I lived on 118th, two years ago, she lived two houses down. Lovely woman.
ReplyDeleteShe moved to 121 just a few months back.
