☞ INTRODUCING: Hot Bread Kitchen Incubator

Part of last week's La Marqueta open house also included a tour of the Hot Bread Kitchen Incubator which provides training and baking space for local immigrant women who want to learn the trade of artisanal baking. Samples were given out and guides were on hand to show the gleaming new baking facilities which included industrial ovens, prep rooms, mixers and a kitchen dedicated for making chocolates.  Besides the training programs, these rooms are also available to rent out so small business owners in the area can have an affordable space to work at. They actually had some of the baked product sold out front at the bacalao stand in the main market (which probably wasn't the ideal situation) but reportedly a stand will arrive in the future for Hot Bread Kitchen: LINK.  Those who are interested in the incubator program at East Harlem's La Marqueta, which is located on Park and 115th, should check out the EDC site for more information: LINK

  1. That's great news -- having a proper presence in the market space seems like a no-brainer for them.
