☞ INTRODUCING: Metal Awning Up at 2647 FDB
We noticed almost a year ago that two old bombed-out tenement buildings just north of 141st Street and FDB/8th Avenue had meticulously been restored but progress has been slow until now. There wasn't that much changing on the facade since a brand new cornice was added on top but one will notice that a serious old school awning has been placed out front in recent months at storefront No. 2647 (first photo). Paperwork states that there will be 12 apartments in the above floors along with an eating and drinking establishment below. We've seen a bar already set up inside the interior when workers were on site but haven't found any evidence of what the establishment will be called. The new apartments apparently all have HVAC in them so it doesn't sound like a rental for this one. Any tips out there? Check out our original post for before-and-after photos of this building: LINK

I just walked by there the other day and was wondering what was going on.
ReplyDeleteThe area could definitely use another sit-down restaurant and/or bar.
I heard they were having trouble obtaining a liquor license being so close to PS 123 (but isn't Londels closer?) The place will open this year, though, with the liquor license from what I understand. Construction guy gave me a mid-year opening date.,,, we'll see!
