☞ READ: Harlem's Restaurant Renaissance
Notable food blog Blue Kitchen just posted a brief mention of Harlem's recent restaurant renaissance and we were lucky enough to have helped out on the article: LINK. Blogger Terry Boyd was working on a piece for the USA Character Approved Blog and we were more than happy to give some recommendations on eateries that opened in the past 2 years which were not on his list. Mr. Boyd already had the Rooster on his radar and has since showcased a few more of the new Harlem classics: LINK. Harlem's new food scene is getting a lot of local coverage lately and a little national coverage is also not such a bad thing either.

I've come to notice that Harlem is really coming up on the restaurant scene. I work for Zagat and in the past month I've already been sent to collect info on 2 places which I think have promise... Red Rooster and Levain Bakery! Go Harlem!
ReplyDeleteGo you Nikki, let the crew here know when you are next coming to Harlem we can tell you some other places to visit.
ReplyDeleteLenox Avenue is looking good. Quite a few restaurants from approx. 117th to about 129th.
ReplyDeleteNice pic of Chez Lucienne - anyone been there recently? Has the food / service improved?
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting up at 145th ~sigh~
ReplyDeleteI was in Harlem for the first time last week and ate at Chez Lucienne two nights in a row. The service and food was superb on both nights. The first night, I dined alone but was quickly engaged in friendly conversation with people sitting next to me. The ambience was fabulous. I told my friends and they came uptown to try it out. They left with similar reactions. The coq au vin should be a national treasure. Seriously. I was just missing this place today.
