☞ INTRODUCING: More Funds for New Museum
The Museum for African Art will be getting its lobby built thanks to a generous $3 million donation by the Ford Foundation. Even though most of the Robert A.M. Stern designed condo building at 110th Street and Central Park North has been completed, the museum portion itself still had to raise a total of $90 million to finish things up. The new lobby will now be called the Ford Foundation Lobby which will eventually be open by fall 2011. Other donors such as David Rockefeller, John Tishman and the Walt Disney Company have all helped raise the current total to $78 million for the new cultural center in East Harlem.

ReplyDeleteEast Harlem? Really? I mean technically yes but. . .
ReplyDeleteIts a museum for African Art but the building's design doesn't reflect that at all, just wondering...
