☞ INTRODUCING: More Shop Options on Lenox
Back in January, the Wall Street Journal reported that Les Ambassades would open their second branch on the block between 126th and 127th Street but it now seems that this information might not be so accurate: LINK. Harlem Bespoke revealed that 341 Lenox Avenue on the next block north originally had permits up for a bistro called Skillet Pie (DOB paperwork have been issued as recently as February 2011) but the apparent former owner of that business has just informed us that this space will be the new Les Ambassades location (top photo).
With that piece of the puzzle solved, we figured that the shop further south at 325 Lenox must be prepping for some other business (lower photo) since Les Ambassades was not arriving on that block. Previous work permits already comfirmed that the storefront will be an eating and drinking establishment but it wasn't until later on in January that the name Cove Lounge appeared in the DOB files. Skillet Pie is apparently not going to happen but at least another business is coming along to fill up some of the empty shops on this side of the avenue in the mid 120's.

there does at long last seem to be some action in the Settapani Coal Oven Pizza location on Lenox and 119. Of course it could be a false alarm.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to hear that!
ReplyDeleteLenox Ave is looking good!
ReplyDeleteI like both these store frontages for being non standard, especially the one between 126th and 127th with custom made the welded steel window and door frames. In both establishments, some one is thinking beyond the regular aluminum/glass store front, I expect to see similar creativity inside. A well overdue and much needed boost to the west of Lenox.
