The Harlem Jazz Shrine Festival will run from May 9th - 15th next month and Minton's Playhouse apparently will be open for a few of the events. Minton's on West 118th has been closed for several months now but folks who missed out on the iconic Harlem jazz venue should mark their calendars for the Jazz Shrine dates:

Anybody know if there are plans to open it on a regular basis? Had a look around inside last year as part of the Mount Morris historic tour and it has that intimate atmosphere missing from most modern venues.
