☞ READ: Manhattan's Best BBQ Ribs

The Serious Eats site just did a blind taste test of the top barbecue rib joints on the island of Manhattan and a couple of uptown notables made the cut.  Surprisingly at fifth place was Dinosaur Bar-B-Que's St. Louis ribs which the judges were even perplexed about.  The Manhattanville institution on West 125th Street and 12th Avenue has been considered uptown's best BBQ joint so the mid-level finish was a big upset.  Rack and Soul on 109th Street (just east of Broadway) found itself on the top of this year's list for its baby back ribs. Although further south than Harlem proper, Rack and Soul has a kitchen headed up by Central Harlem's own Charles Gabriel and is much closer than going to any place downtown.
