☞ REVIVE: A Church Stable Partially Restored

One of the old stable houses in Manhattanville looks like it just got a little bit of a fix lately when we last walked by.  Number 400 West 126th Street (just west of Morningside Avenue) actually belongs to St. Josephs Catholic church and the top photo shows what it looked like over a year ago.  At the lower image, one can see that the garage portion of the 2-story building has a new coat of paint on it but the top half still retains the weathered look. There's a parking garage now in the actual stable part of the building and apartments appear to be on the top floor but the standout to this gem is the side door entrance that leads out to the the corner courtyard of the church. A similar stable-to-church conversion in South Harlem has recently had bigger issues in its lack of restoration: LINK
