☞ REVIVE: Retail Arriving at Verizon Building
That Verizon Building just east of ACP/7th Avenue looks like it will now be converted into retail space. The dated looking building with reflective amber mirror glass windows became the property of Verizon about two years ago when a grandfather clause in their contract gave them the option to buy the building once the lease was up. Turns out everything was written up a couple of decades ago so the stipulated sales price was set at $190K. Verizon then sold the property for $6.35 million to a developer the following year. DOB permits filed last month for 148 West 125th Street now show that a full office-to-retail is at hand. Check out the original story and a photo of what the building looked like in our previous post: LINK
