☞ READ: New Development for West Harlem?

One last detail to note in this past weekend's New York Times article on Hamilton Heights is that a major condo development might happen in the near future based on a current deal being negotiated.  We mentioned the historic property when it first appeared last month but many questions remain on whether it will be totally demolished or not. So which West Harlem building site will be developed next?
Apparently a "hotelier who will remain nameless" is looking into an old theater on Amsterdam and 149th Street for a condo development: LINK. We mentioned last month that the old Thomas W. Lamb designed Washington Theatre at 1805 Amsterdam was up on the market for quite a high asking price so this would have to be the property in question: LINK. This building is not an official landmark so it is unclear if the development will be adaptive reuse or an entirely new construction.  If the hotelier decides to reuse the front part of the building, then he would at least already have a name and sales angle for the development.
