☞ SEE: Dreams Deferred at The Gatehouse
Wednesday, June 15th, 7:30 PM, DREAMS DEFERRED: The Sakia Gunn Film Project screening, Q&A at the Gatehouse Theatre, 150 Convent Avenue and West 135th Street . This documentary tells the little known story of Sakia Gunn, a 15-year-old student who was fatally stabbed in a gay hate crime in Newark, New Jersey. A gifted student and basketball player, Gunn was stabbed while waiting for a bus. The film depicts the homophobia that caused this murder and questions the lack of media coverage of the murder of a Black Gay teenager. More details on this presentation can be found on the Harlem Stage site along with information for purchasing $10 tickets: LINK
