☞ REMEMBER: Fifth & 128th circa 1932

An old photo of Upper Fifth Avenue around 128th Street circa 1932 shows a handsome line of 5-story brownstones that were located on the east side of the avenue.  This residential section of East Harlem is on the cusp of Central Harlem and one of the parlor floors had even served as a church at one point in time. The lower photos reveals that those tall brownstones still exist today and that the aforementioned church has since moved on.  Archival photo courtesy NYPL
