☞ SHOP: A New Store at 183 Lenox Avenue

Lower Lenox has some great anchoring businesses such as Settepani, Il Caffe Latte, Tonnie's Minis, Native and Katrina Parris (plus soon to arrive Pink Teacup and Settepani Brick Oven) but there are quite a few open storefronts still available.  We received a tip from a reader that No. 183 Lenox's shop with all the glass out front will soon be getting a new business based on permits filed in the past month. Apparently the long empty commercial space will become a liquor store based on a license application by a company called Freeland: LINK.  It's at least one less empty shop in the area and this part of town does not actually have this type of storefront so it might be a good fit.

  1. From a quick google search, I think these guys are a little more up market than a regular liquor store. Hopefully will be a tasteful addition to the neighborhood.

  2. hey--closest liquor store is on 115 and 8th so it's not like we're overrun. I'm up for a booze shop.

  3. Let us all hope that this new liquor store omitts pints of cheap booze from it's inventory!!

  4. Let’s hope not! Nothing wrong with pints of cheap booze. I doubt if a few pint bottles will drag down the neighbourhood. . . not with methadone clinics and half way houses up a few blocks one way and a thriving crack block down a few in the other direction and bodegas on every corner selling 40 LoKo.

I mean, really, let’s not all get above ourselves here.

  5. Ohhh, I adore that cute space and was always hoping somebody would bring their shingle out. I do hope they have a little bit of cheap booze too...and some German gray burgundy, perhaps?! Looking forward!
