☞ REMEMBER: The Cosmo Theatre c. 1922
An archival photo shows the interior of the Cosmo Theatre circa 1922 and it had us wondering where exactly was this building located. Reference material to the photo mentions that the entertainment venue was in East Harlem along 116th Street and the exact location was at number 176. Looking at the block between Lexington and 3rd Avenue, one will find that most of the buildings are intact still and that a theater facade still remains on the south side. The lower photo shows that it has now been converted into some sort of thrifty clothing venue but the exterior looks pretty much like it should.

There's great material to be found on the Cosmo at Cinema Treasures, a truly excellent website.
