☞ REMEMBER: Game Watching on Harlem Bridge

Even when folks did not have tickets to the game at the sporting fields above 155th Street, there appears to have been other methods to watch games thanks to a nearby bridge.  A photo taken circa 1895 has some local men stacking up barrels and peering over the valley below to watch the football  event at Manhattan Field.  The popular arenas are now long gone and public housing sits on the location below in modern times.
