☞ REMEMBER: The Stable at West 126th c. 1920

There used to be quite a few former stables left over at the Manhattanville campus site before they were demolished in the past couple of years but a photo from 1920 shows that the east side of Broadway had a similar setup before the wrecking ball came about.  An archival photo of the northeast corner of Broadway and 126th Street (roughly Tiemann Place) reveals a livery stable to the far left of the image.  This was apparently a vaudeville house at one point in time before becoming a stable but today the entire block is home to public housing built during the mid 20th century.
