☞ REMEMBER: 125th and 5th circa 1897
A photo from 1897 shows 5th Avenue looking north at a more residential looking Harlem. Bicyclist can be seen riding down the avenue during a time when automobile traffic was not around and 125th Street had a church at the corner of the commercial corridor.

Nice to see these old photos with people, especially people not posing for the camera but getting on with their every day activities. It seems cycling was very popular.
