An old photo form 1920 shows the well appointed sitting room of the Mott Mansion that used to stand at 2122 Fifth Avenue. Unlike many of the rooms of the day, the only decorative patterning can be found in the furniture and the walls are just blanketed with artwork. The rugs are even minimalist here and the center of attention is mainly the distinct fireplace and the crystal chandelier. To see what stands on this plot today, check out our past post: LINK

well, if was taken in the 1920s, the style of the day would have passed the vogue of pattern on pattern Victorian/Edwardian, through Art Nouveau and right into Deco so this room has a very Grandmother look to it.
