An archival photo of the block of West 133rd Street between Lenox and 5th Avenue shows what the area used to look like before it was demolished to make way for Lenox Terrace. By mid century, these types of tenement apartment buildings would have fallen out of favor and the super block models would eventually take over this section of Central Harlem. West 133rd at this intersection would actually be removed from the street grid to make way for the large building block.
