☞ REVIVE: Sidewalk Shed up at the Victoria

The Victoria Theatrer's $100 million adaptive reuse project is set to have a ground breaking in 2012 and more activity has been seen on the site in the past weeks.  All of the lower storefronts had workers analyzing the interiors last month but now a sidewalk shed has appeared in front of the long shuttered theater located just east of FDB/8th Avenue at West 125th Street. As reported this past August, a 140-unit rental building and a 175-unit hotel is currently planned for the site which will also include several cultural centers while preserving the theater itself: LINK

  1. call me suspicious and untrusting but I will believe “several cultural centres”, preservation of the theatre itself and a huge rental and hotel building when I see it.

I would be less surprised to see a sneaker store.
