The empty retail space facing Central Park that was gutted some time ago appears to have secured a tenant. An organic deli grocery has posted a sign up a 9 West 110th Street and will be the first better establishment to set up shop along the Central Park North corridor. Unlike the ubiquitous gourmet delis (that are nothing but) which seem to pop up on every corner, this newcomer promises wholesome and organic foods. Considering all the recent luxury developments that have come about along the Central Park north end, it is only appropriate that better shops eventually open along this notable corridor.
Hate to sound cynical, but I've seen a lot of new "gourmet" delis now throwing in the word "organic" in an effort to sound nicer. We'll see.
